Next >

The vision for Beaver Lake Preserve was set at the time of the purchase of the property by the city of Sammamish and is documented in the Declaration of Protective Covenants for the property. To paraphrase, this document declares that: The Beaver Lake Natural Area Preserve property shall be retained forever in its open space and natural condition. The natural features shall be reasonably maintained and stewarded with the highest priority given to the protection of the native plants and animals that reside on and visit the Preserve. Through passive recreation, such as hiking and bird watching, the public shall be able to enjoy the Preserve and learn about Northwest forest and wetland systems from observing the natural workings of this intact habitat. The community shall be an active participant in the stewardship of the Preserve.
